Four family portraits of the characters appear in the Dutch integration exam( inburgering examen) questions. The space materialises these invisible relations between the official notion of “integration” and immigrant life into more visible and tangible space and stories, reflecting the core values in the integration exam. Each portrait corresponds to a different aspect of integration knowledge that people need to know to become qualified citizens.
